You know the Dragon Age II demo is out now, right? Hop onto your PC, Xbox 360, or PS3 to grab the demo for the tactical RPG whose full version is due out March 8. PC gamers can find it on Steam or else head over to your console of choice’s game network.
Try out each of the three classes in the demo –– Warriors, Mages, and Rogues –– and get an early introduction to Isabella, a smuggler and one of the possible romantic interests in the full game.
As added incentive to complete the demo, BioWare is awarding players the dwarven blade Hayder’s Razer, a special weapon that boosts players’ health, mana, and combat abilities. If that’s not reason enough to play, consider how BioWare has promised to unlock two special items for players who sign into their EA accounts while playing the demo –– provided that 1 million people download the roughly hour-long preview before March 1. As I right this, more than 445,000 people have joined the fray so that lofty goal is well within reach with more than a week left in the contest.
And what are those two prizes? That would be Lothering’s Lament, a book of poems written by a Fereldan refugee while she fled the Blight, and The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall, also a book of poems by a Fereldan refugee who dreams of a new life in Kirkwall. Lament will grant players experience when read and Kirkwall will share money with players.
If I had written a post about the most anticipated games of 2011 then Dragon Age II would be at the very top of the list. (Note to self: write a most anticipated games of 2011 post). Pass up the chance to play DA2 for free and I’ll have no choice but to think your head is broken. You don’t want that, do you?
